50 shades of yellow

Hello! Or should I say, YELLOW!

Now, before you gripe “Oh, no, yellow is sooo not my color”, please hear me out. Many people are unsettled by the idea of wearing yellow as a statement color, since it’s such a bold shade. The brash color is hated, loved, mistreated and neglected; infact it is a symbol of a warning, a sign of danger lurking around the corner. Why not embrace this zesty color and be perilous?

Yes, you heard me right! You can sport yellow along with all its treachery; you just gotta follow some rules. First up, find a shade that suits you. There are so many shades of yellow to choose from: muted mustard, pastel lemon, butter yellow, gold, luminous chartreuse and many more. Just like every other color, yellow comes in several shades so regardless of how pale or tan you are, there is a hue for you; you just have to find it!

Well, after you have the right shade of yellow, you must pair it right! It’s a popular custom to pair yellow with black and white. However, there are plenty of ways to work it in to your outfit in a more daring way. You can mix the various hues of yellow together to get a perfect ensemble or you can pair yellow accessories with your nude coloured ensembles to make a statement!

Yes, YELLOW is happening everywhere on the runaways, redcarpets, and on the street…so there’s no hiding from it! Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra are sporting this color internationally on the redcarpet and Manish Malhotra is dressing bollywood in this fiery color. No matter how hard you try you cannot ignore yellow this summer. The fashion police is as much in love with this Mango color as we are with  brand of the same name.

Still not convinced?!? Don’t write it off as yet because it seems way too overwhelming to wear for everyday, I think you might just consider adding it to your wardrobe by the end of this post. Scroll for some ensembles and styling tips!

Look 1: I am the sunshine!

For the first look, I chose a yellow layered dress and paired it with gladiator boots. The dress makes me feel like the sunshine, uninhibited and innate!

Team up your ripped jeans with a yellow striped T-shirt and throw-in a pale yellow shirt for the perfect street style look!

Look 3: Mustard on Mustard!

Mustard is one yellow hue I can vouch for since it goes well with all skin tones. I went all out with a mustard bell sleeved top paired with mustard culottes. Tan accessories compliment mustard in the paramount way! Like the all-out-on-mustard look? I sure do!

Look 4: Refreshing Mango!

The Mango shade of yellow is just the right amount of zingier. It is neither too bright nor too dull and so goes well with most skin tones! Added a summer mango-coloured blazer to give a refreshing look to my otherwise bland ensemble of white top and blue trousers.

Look 5: Going all out with gold and yellow!

Here is my favourite yellow look! Yes I have dared to use gold with a fiery yellow shade! Printed sarees with crop tops are a huge trend for 2017! Like my way of executing this top trend of 2017? I sure do!

I have for sure painted the town yellow!

Here are a couple of lines from Coldplay’s  Yellow to inspire you:

Look at the stars

Look how they shine for you

And everything you do

Yeah they were all yellow…

I came along

I wrote a song for you

And all the things you do

And it was called yellow…

It indeed is all Yellow this summer!

Signing off!

Until next time!
